|Chatham Island Forget-Me-Not
A spectacular plant with glossy rhubarb-like leaves which reach very large proportions when conditions are suitable. In spring large heads of sky-blue flowers are held above the leaves and continue for approximately one month. Prefers a cool situation and rich moist soil. In warmer North Island areas the best position for the Forget-me -not is on the southern or eastern wall of a building or where other shrubs give mid-day shade. If in a too deeply shaded place they will not flower. Leaves can be frosted in an open situation.
