For people with a small garden wanting a kowhai tree this would be the best choice . Naturally smaller growing this kowhai flowers at a young age and has very pretty foliage and form.

Sophora prostrata
A bushy shrub with a lovely form . The interlacing branches are golden coloured and the leaves very small . The whole bush has a tangled appearance. The flowers are small, almost orange, and fewer in number than other kowhais. Very tough & hardy. Could be clipped as a hedge.
