A low spreading shrub which tolerates very dry and exposed conditions. Grows well on the coast. This smaller variety generally flowers later than Pachystegia insignis.
Ideal for smaller rock gardens as it needs good drainage. Is endemic to South Marlborough, coastal and inland lowland, and usually confined to steep rocky or stony sites.
Prefers full sun and dryer soil
