A very attractive shrub which grows well in coastal conditions. Creates a tropical look in the garden. It forms a dense bush and has masses of yellow to red fragrant flowers in spring.
Commonly found in lowland to lower montane forests and on rocks throughout the North Island and in Marlborough sounds. Usually as an epiphyte.
Prefers part to full shade and free draining, moist soils.
